Focus On Sketches: Hole in 1

Today we're working with the June 2016 Free sketch from Scrapbook Generation again.

This time we're going to do a single page again but we're going to include all the elements only smaller.

By cutting the pictures down I could easily get all of the elements on to one page. Since the photos were older and a sequence they were perfect to crop down and really get in close.

Here's a look at the process

My Life His Story

today I have a layout I created with the Freaky Fast Friday challenge from the Scrap-Room and the August Flavors of the Month kit. I fell in love with this challenge the first time I played along and couldn't resist giving it a go this month. It takes so many of the decisions I dilly dally over and makes them for me so I can get a layout done quickly.

I randomly cut up the Jillibean Soup Mushroom Medley collection and started pushing them around on the page. They fell into place and then I just needed to find a photo. This photo of my son and co-workers at the end of summer camp was perfect!

I added some buttons, flair, and wood veneer from my stash and that was one more layout done.

Here's a look at the process

Focus On Sketches: SDC Good Times

Today we're working with the June 2016 Free sketch from Scrapbook Generation again. This time we're going to stick to the sketch fairly closely and just change up some of the elements.

Instead of a long title with a banner above it I made a large banner of the whole title from the Flower Market cartridge. I also added some more embellishing with it. Instead of a small photo and journaling block I combined them together into one bigger journaling block from a 3x4 card to hold all of my journaling.

Focus On 6x6: Let's Go Play

I have another layout using my 6x6 pads and a process video to show me making it. I grabbed my Simple Stories So Rad collection and some older photos and went to town. I really love how this one turned out and can't wait to finish the journalling.

Is It Too Early To Talk Christmas?

I don't know about you but it seems like Christmas sneaks up on me every year. I have grand plans of all kinds of projects and then I get busy and don't have time to get them done. I'm getting a jump on it this year. I wanted to create a new wreath for my front door and when I saw these awesome letters as part of Daysprings $10 Flash Sale I knew I had to have them. They were perfect for what I had in mind.

Hubby and I went to Hobby Lobby and started shopping for supplies. I found a plain wreath and since we live in a farm house I wanted it to be rustic looking. I found the perfect plaid ribbon to create a bow and then the hunt was on for some sprigs to decorate.

They had these perfect sprigs of burlap poinsettias and jingle bells. It made it so easy! Almost too easy.

In a matter of minutes I had this beautiful wreath created and it's even prettier than I imagined it would be. The letters were a perfect touch. I simply ran a wire through the hooks already on the back of them and wired it into the wreath.

I love that I could easily unwire and move the letters to a shelf to stay up the rest of the year.

Be sure to check out the $10 Flash Sale! It includes journals, more letterpress block words, home decor items, jewelry, and even dishes! It's the perfect time to start getting some Christmas gifts for the ones you love!!

Are you Ready to Get Creative??

Journals are all the rage right now to be creative and messy in without all the fear of doing it right. You can just let go, be messy, and have fun! Do you remember being in grade school and thinking everything you drew was a masterpiece? I sure do and I want us all to get back to that confidence in our art work.   How about you? Are you ready to get creative?

Journals have become so much more than just a diary. I keep one as a brain dump for all my to do lists, shopping lists, prayers, encouragement, scriptures and the list goes on and on. I've been inspired by Shanna Noel to use one as a prayer/devotional keeper. Check out these beautiful small journals just the perfect size to do just that.

I've also been inspired to create a mini scrapbook in one as well. Growing up I always had a scrapbook where I kept tickets, memorabilia of all sorts, friends school photos, etc. I think these little journals are perfect to make a mini scrapbook like that with some of our summer day trips and activities. How fun will it be for family and friends to pick them up and browse through and relive the fun of this summer.

Here are two that just drew me in!
I started with this page and my word for the year. I've been studying scripture to enforce what it means to be purposeful and how God can help me say yes to what I should and no to those things I don't need to do. When we start our day with Him then there is peace and easier to hear His voice and guidance.

This weekend you can pick up these as well as several hardbound journals for  just $5  each  so affordable. There are many journals to choose from perfect for wedding, new family, or just an encouragement gift. Grab several and bless someone with one!

Sale ends Sunday August 21st
