Disney 50's Prime Time with Process Video

Today I'm hosting a Mix it Up challenge at My Scraps and More forums. Be sure to hop over and join in.

The challenge is to
1. use a new collection
2. Use Die cuts (either electrical or manual die cutter)
3. Layer up. Layer your papers, your die cuts, photos, etc

I decided to work with the new October Afternoon Saturday Morning collection. I used my silhouette to cut my title and embellishments. I layered up all my papers and used at least 3 layers on my die cuts.

Here's a look at the step by step process

Today with Process Video

I had a few more photos from our 1st anniversary get away that I shared yesterday so I decided to pull out another background paper that I'd been hanging on to. I wasn't sure how to go about using it either so I decided to do a grid layout and keep the printing on the paper to finish out the grid.

To emphasize the grid even more I decided to use my stitching guide and hand stitch a grid using some teal embroidery floss. It really gave the page an extra pop.

Here's a look at the process.

You Are The

Today I'm hosting a challenge at My Scraps & More Forums for a Throwback Thursday. I went way back in the photo vault to 1989. This was my husbands and I's first anniversary and we took a little overnight trip out of town.

I purchased the Jillibean Soup Kraft You Are cardstock from My Scraps & More on clearance. I wasn't sure how I was going to use it but I had to have it. I wanted most of the phrases to show so I decided to back the cut outs with various washi tape.

I then matted the photo and started building it up and added my cluster of embellishments around it. I decided to tuck my journalling into a little pocket behind the photo.

Supplies used:
Jillibean Soup Kraft You Are
washi tape
Fancy Pants Memories Captured Ephemera Pack
Freckled Fawn Paper clips

Disney in the Fall with Process Video

Hello everyone! today I have a layout for Scrapbook Generations. I chose to work with a sketch from their Sketches for Scrapbooking one-page sketches Vol 2 book.

Here's a look at the step by step.

If you're reading in email click the link to watch the video

I love fall and Simple Stories always has the best papers so this layout was a lot of fun to put together. I used two different SS fall collections as well as some embellishments from a Echo Park fall line. The photo is of my son. I'm trying to scrap as many photos as I can fine (which is not many) of my son's first year full time with Disney. He's not one to take pics so I have to grab them when I can. I know some day he will appreciate it. LOL

And some close ups.

Make Way for Ducklings with Process Video

Today I have a challenge for the Cabin Fever Crop at the My Scraps & More Forum. come on over and join us for a ton of fun and challenges complete with prizes!

My challenge is 'Snuggle up with a Good Book' which in my book means scrap a favorite character in your real life and use a book title for your page title. I decided to scrap my daughter which is definitely a favorite character of mine.

She has this thing about ducks; she DOESN'T like them at all!! She had a bad experience as a child that has left her scarred for life. LOL But that doesn't seem to stop them from finding her. It seems if there's a duck around they're going to come towards her. At Disney there always seems to be ducks around and this particular day we were enjoying the flowers when all of a sudden her expression begins to change and then I see the ducks. LOL I told her to chill they weren't going to hurt her and this is the look I got. So glad I captured it because it still makes me laugh today.

Here's a look at the process of making the layout

Welcome to My Scraps & More Cabin Fever Crop on the forum! We have 16 challenges to get you scrappin and the chance at winning some prizes.

I don't know about you but I have spent a lot of evenings snuggled under my quilts and going to bed early so my challenge is all about quilts.

1. Use some design that is reminiscent of a quilt design for your background.
2. Use a warm color scheme or at least some warm colors on your layout (red, orange, or yellows)
3. Use some type of thread or twine. You could stitch on your layout or simply tie a string through a button or tag like I have.
