SS Vintage Bliss - Family

Todays layout if for my daughters baby album I've been working on. I used another sketch from the Sketch Solutions class at BPC. I adore the Simple Stories Line and Vintage Bliss is one of my favorites. Even though it's not a baby line it's perfect for a baby album. I'm adding a few touches from SS Baby line to baby it up on some pages.

And a few closeups.
I fussy cut some of the butterflies from the paper for embellishments along with punched some with my Martha Stewart butterfly punches.
The stickers and brads come from the Vintage Bliss collections.

BG card kit

I was able to go to a crop last weekend with two of my besties. It was great and relaxing to just chat and enjoy each others company and I even managed to get a few things scrapped.

This is an older Basic Grey card kit that was given to me a few months ago. It's supposed to be a baby girl card kit but since I don't know that many people having babies I decided to just make them girlie cards. LOL

I think they turned out quite cute now I just need to get them out to some of my lovely friends that enrich my life so much.

Here's one more layout I did with this months $5 Free to Be Me paper pack. You can get all the details to get your own at the end of this post. Only a couple of more days so don't wait!

I used another sketch from my Sketch Solutions class from BPC. The class is awesome and it's been a challenge for me so that's always good!

I've been trying to include the feather printed vellum on every layout and haven't been able to work it in yet. I love that vellum. I did manage to use this months Stamp of the Month for the title. You can grab it for only $5 this month as well.

I also used the fabulous new Feather stamp and one of the Hostess only stamps Family Photo. I love both of these stamp sets and will be using them over and over again especially scrapping my family. LOL

Everyday Moments = Simple Stories Homespun

I love receiving kits each month from Scrapbook Generation. Not only do I get fabulous new sketches to work with I get a sampling of the newest products. I'm in love with this paper and think I will have to be ordering some more. From my favorite company Simple Stories this is their new Homespun collection.

My daughter and I spent a lovely day together getting her enrolled in her first full  time semester in college. We spend some time in the library which is her favorite place to hang out then had a lovely lunch at a new little restaurant. Perfect day enjoying each others company and everyday moments.

I used my monthly kit and altered the sketch a little bit to fit my photos and different embellishments that reflect things about the day and the personality of my daughter.
I hope you enjoy

Disneys Flower and Garden Festival

This was another fabulous kit from Scrapbook Generation that I knew instantly I wanted to use photos from Disney's Flower & Garden Festival. The colors and designs are perfect for it.

And again using the cut apart cards and fussy cutting some paper made this a super quick layout to pull together. If you haven't check out Scrapbook Generation and their kits as well as their full online store be sure to do so. They are wonderful designers and super great to order from.

WDW Princess & the Frog

When I saw this lovely Scrapbook Generation kit I knew it was perfect for these photos. I couldn't wait to put it all together.

Disney has the funnest little setups for photos. This one is in the gardens where you can meet Tiana. It's a beautiful area with the bright colors and a perfect place to find a frog to kiss to see if it could be your prince charming or princess.

I adjusted the sketch a little bit to fit with my pictures but it's still pretty true to theirs. Fussy cutting all the butterflies and words make this an incredibly fast layout to put together. When you don't have embellishments to match your papers or if you prefer flatter pages look to see if  you can cut images from your paper and there you go perfectly matched embellishments.

BPC Sketch Solutions

If you've followed my blog or facebook page you know I love to learn new things especially scrappy things. I'm always looking for inspiration from others and trying to learn from them. It's been a few months since I took a class so when Big Picture Classes posted the Sketch Solutions class by Donna Jannuzzi I of course checked it out but decided I was probably too busy to add anything else to my plate. Then the online message board  I participate on started talking about it and before I knew it I was contemplating again. Then fellow board member Isbaha posted a coupon code. Now how could I keep resisting. I've signed up and will be working along with several of my fellow board members. Class starts tomorrow so it's not too late to sign up. I'll be sharing what I get done here so you can follow allong and I'd love to see your layouts you create should you decide to join. You can share them on my facebook page facebook.com/MyScrappyIdeas

Class information, video and registration can be found here:
http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/sketch-solutions.php

Try Discount code SKETCHBOOK for $8 off the course. Last time I checked it was still working.

To prepare I printed off the Ebook, I've gone through my photos and pulled a few that have stories I want to tell. I gathered up some supplies and organized them into kits along with my photos so they're easy to pull and use with each lesson. There will be a new sketch every other day so I'm hoping all the preparation will help me keep up. I don't think I'll be able to do a layout every other day but hoping for at least a couple a week and maybe three. I have the next week off so this first week I certainly hope to get a lot accomplished.

I hope you join me!

Scrap Club Bonus Layout - Balloon Ride

Each month I host a Scrap Club that you can join locally or long distance. You can read all the details in the link above on my blog. Today I'm sharing June's Bonus Layout. We will be working with Balloon Ride and I've fallen in love with it's soft muted colors. So great for so many kinds of layouts.

I kept this fairly simple and I still have a lot of journalling to add to which will fill up the rest of the horizontal space next to the photos. I used chipboard pieces from the BAlloon Ride complements as well as stamped images from some of my favorite stamp sets. If you don't want to do stamping you could simply use more of the Complements or Balloon Ride Assortment to embellish your pages.

Links for club details and the supplies used in June's Club layouts.

March Month in Review

I'm back today with March's Month in Review layout. I think I've finally played around enough that I like this one much better. I lowered the horizontal strip of papers even further and added washi tape to add more color to the page. It's just such a shame to cover up so much of the pretty paper.

I hope you're enjoying my MIR layouts and I'll try to get aprils done soon and posted.

February Month In Review

I'm getting behind in my posting but I have good excuses. I've been busy working on layouts part of the time but this last week I've been away visiting my son. It's been 5 months since he moved and with Mother's Day I just couldn't stand it any longer. My daughter and I flew out to spend the week with him. It was wonderful but much to short and even harder to leave.

I'm so glad that I've started doing the Month in Review albums so that he can see what all we've been up to as well as the enjoyment we are getting looking at them each month. I leave the album out on the coffee table to enjoy by everyone that cares to sit and peruse.

This is February's layout without the journalling. I have some personal stuff to add so decided to do it after it was photographed. I'm still tweaking the layout to  more of my liking which will teach me to always do a trial run before I cut up 12 months worth of layouts. Let that be a lesson for all. ;o)

If you're just joining me and don't know about the Month in Review Album you can check out the labels to the side of my blog and find all the information to create your own. I absolutely love doing it and see doing it for a long time to come.

Don't forget this months Close to My Heart specials. It's a double dip month with a special paper pack for only $5 and the Stamp of the Month for $5 with your $50 purchase. you can get all the details on the links in the side of my blog.
